Recycling ...

This is a recycled shirt lap quilt that I started a few years ago and finally got it finished on the weekend ... 


This one was made for my hubby ... and made just the way he wanted it ... all the shirt pieces left whole and overlaid on the background fabric until it was covered ... he had me do a recycled jeans one the same way a while ago .. 

so now he has a shirt quilt to go with his jeans quilt ... 


I personally don't like it too much .. but he does and I guess that is all that matters ... 

I did make this other one with the same recycled shirts in 2007 .. and as you can see it has friendship star blocks ...  this is a lovely size quilt and has been well used  .. measuring around 42 inches square .. it is just a perfect size for over the knees on those nippy winter nights... soooo cosy ..

  2. Yes very clever idea but I do have to agree ''it's ugly'' hahahahahaha but at least hubby loves it... love the star quilt though xxx
